Share your Snacking Ideas

Now that Peanut has decided to get over her hunger strike she has had for the last several months and finally eat the meals I make her, I am now at a loss as to what to feed her for snacks. So I am turning to the Mommy blogosphere to help me out. Please leave a comment and let me know what your kids loved to snack on when they were Peanut's age (22 months). While you are here please come enter my Giveaway. Entries are pretty low and this is my first one so I am hoping to get a good turn out. Thanks!!!!

  1. One of the things Quinn likes is Hummus and pita chips. I get the single-serve hummus things from Costco. Also, both my kids go crazy over sliced bell peppers. They like to pick the colors each time we go to the store, and when I cut one I put any leftover (or cut two to make sure there is some) into a baggie and put it in the fridge within Emma's reach. Quinn loves whole apples too, there's something totally different for him about it being whole and not cut. Emma likes cottage cheese and fruit, string cheese, Babybell cheese, and yogurt a lot. She actually also loves Carnation instant breakfast. Other than that, granola bars and fruit snacks make great treats. Good luck!

  2. I don't give Emerson anything (obviously) but a lot of moms in my group do great snacks. Pita (not chips) and hummus, sliced deli meat and cheese, peaches, apples, clementines, pasta salad, berries and yogurt, couscous w/ peas and/or carrots, carrots and hummus, mango, avacado, granola w/or w/o yogurt, thats just a few that I can think of from my meet ups.

  4. We're fans of grapes, quesadillas, pretzels, fruits snacks and yogurt here in the Koudelka home. It's kind of a work in progress for us too. Kate - sounds like you've got some SERIOUSLY healthy eating habits going on at your place. I am so impressed.
